9 Days Uganda primates and wildlife safari

The 9 Days Uganda primates and wildlife safari  takes you to famous Bwindi impenetrable national park home to endangered mountain gorillas, to Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and to Kibale Forest National Park home to chimpanzees. You will visit the best national parks in Uganda and you will encounter different wildlife. The journey will start and end in Kampala/Entebbe international airport.

9 Days Uganda primates and wildlife safari

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Our company guide will pick you up from the hotel for transfer to Lake Mburo National Park which is located in Mbarara district along Kampala-Mbarara highway. There will be stopover at Equator where you will takes some photos and have refreshments. Have lunch on the en-route to the park.

Upon arrival at the park, you will have en-route game drive as you are heading to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

You will start your days with very hot cup of coffee and then head for morning game drive where you will encounter different wildlife like giraffes, water-buck, hippos, buffalo, zebras, hyena, leopards and plenty of bird species. Enjoy the game drive and after you will head back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for boat cruise at Lake Mburo where you will enjoy the cool breeze of waters and viewing some wildlife and bird species. Return to the lodge with en-route game drive to you lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After morning breakfast, go for short game drive and then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a home to the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in the world. You will drive to Bwindi with stopover at any local restaurant for lunch, after lunch continues with the journey to the park. Upon arrival at the lodge, check-in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Community walks

You will take heavy breakfast, pack your trekking equipment, carry sack, enough drinking and head to park’s headquarters for briefing on the rules and regulation of mountain gorilla trekking. UWA officers will brief the tourists and group them in group of 8 members per gorilla family. Each group will be given UWA ranger who is well trained to lead the group into the jungle in search of mountain gorilla. The trek takes from an hour to 8 hours hike, after allocating gorilla family which is led by silverback; you will be allowed one hour to view the gentle in their natural habituates. Return to starting point where you will find your guide who will drive you back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, visit the Batwe communities, you will be entertained with their local dance, local traditional weddings, you may have chance to test their local foods. Return to the lodge for relaxation, have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take morning breakfast and check-out of the lodge for transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrival at time for lunch, check-in at lodge and have lunch. After lunch go for game drive in park where you will view wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise at Kazinga Channel

After morning breakfast, undertake morning game drive to Kasenyi area where you will meet the early predators coming back from night hunt. Expect to encounter different wildlife like elephants, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes and many more. Queen Elizabeth National Park is birder’s paradise having over 600 bird species which include Albertine Rift Endemics.

Return to the lodge for lunch and after head for afternoon boat cruise at kazinga channel where you will encounter hippos, crocodiles and bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

Here come another morning in the world of animals, have morning coffee and check-out of the lodge and the guide will transfer you to Kibale forest National Park home to the primates. Have short game drive as your saying bye-bye to Queen Elizabeth National Park with high chances of viewing some wildlife on your en-route to Kibale Forest National Park with visit to craters. Once in Kibale, you drive to the lodge, check-in as you wait for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland sanctuary

You will wake up from land of chimps, have breakfast and head to park’s headquarters for briefing on rules and regulation of chimpanzee tracking. After briefing the best part of the experience will start off where UWA game ranger will led the group into the jungle in search of our cousins the chimpanzee to whom we share 98% DNA test. You will pass between thick and tell trees, lush vegetation and rainy forest in search of the chimps. It is the best experience one should not miss when in Uganda. After finding the chimpanzee, you will see young chimpanzees playing around tree, other breast feeding and other looking for food. After that one hour of viewing you will return to the starting point where you will meet your guide for transfer back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 9: Departure

Have breakfast in the morning and driver will transfer you back to Kampala. Have lunch from the way and then proceed to Kampala or Entebbe international airport.
