4 Day Rhino and Kidepo wildlife safari itinerary

Day 1: Rhino trekking and visit Aru falls.

On the first day of your 4 day Rhino and Kidepo wildlife safari, you will have an early start as you begin your Uganda wildlife safari. The first stop will be at the Zziwa rhino sanctuary. We will have breakfast before embarking on the trek. After a safety briefing, the rangers will guide you on foot and locate the different rhinos in the sanctuary. Each rhino family group can be seen for around 30 minutes. This is to avoid agitating them. Proceed to Gulu where we will have lunch.

We will drive further to Aru falls, 40km from Kitgum town. Here, we will hike down to the base of the waterfalls for amazing sightings and possible swimming. Since river Acwa is seasonal, the water levels tend to fluctuate with the season. We will then proceed to Kitgum where we will spend a night.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo and do an evening game drive.

On this day of this 4 day Rhino and Kidepo wildlife safari, we will have an early start for Kidepo valley national park. The scenic drive through the Karamajong plains is both breathtaking and rewarding. On arrival, we will check into the lodge and enjoy our delicious lunch. Later in the evening, we will venture out for an evening game drive.

On this game drive, we will drive into the Narus valley in search of the dwellers of the park. We hope to see wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, hyenas, zebra, eland, Jackson’s hartebeests and so much more. We will then retire to the lodge for the night.

Day 3: Morning game drive and evening sun downer.

Following a restful night, we will venture into the park for another game drive. This will give us an opportunity to spot the wildlife we may missed on the previous game drive. More to that, we will take time to enjoy the ones we saw but this time at a leisurely pace. We will have a bush breakfast at Kakine campsite overlooking the Narus valley.

Later in the afternoon, we will go for an evening sun downer on the amaphas rock. This rock up crop rises 50 meters and has impeccable views of the savanna grasslands and the sunset. We will have a couple of drinks as celebrate the beauty of the park.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala.

This is the last day of this 4 day Rhino and Kidepo wildlife safari and we will be transferring back to Kampala. This journey is long but worth it. We will have lunch in Gulu before continuing to Kampala. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel, residence or airport. This will mark the end of your Uganda wildlife safari
