Detailed Itinerary of 7 days Uganda safari

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale national park

On the 1st of 7 days Uganda safari you will be picked from the airport upon arrival or at your hotel in Kampala or lodge after breakfast, your safari driver will give you a short briefing about the safari and set of the journey to Kigali national park. On your way you will have a stopover in Hoima for lunch and another stopover at the Lake Albert escarpments for scenic views of Lake Albert, when you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge and in evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking safari and Bigodi wetland visit

On the 2nd day of 7 days Uganda safari you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge and at exactly 08:00 am you will head to the park for an encounter with chimpanzees on a chimpanzee tracking experience. Kibale national park is a home to the largest chimpanzee population in East Africa and 12 other species of primates such as L’Hoest’s monkeys, golden monkeys, and Black and white colobus monkeys, grey checked Mangabey, red tailed monkeys and bush babies.  Before you trek into the forests you will have a briefing session at the park’s headquarters in which rules and regulations to follow on this experience will be read to you. Then head in to the forests looking for chimpanzee which takes about 23 hours depending on where they nested the previous night, when you find the chimpanzee you will enjoy listening to their pant hooting calls, seeing them play on tree branches and take amazing pictures.

After the experience you will head back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp sanctuary where you will spot many primate species such as baboon, white and black colobus monkeys.  You will also spot otters, mongoose, and many birds such as great blue turaco, shoe bill, and many others which will make your experience an incredible one. You will then head back to your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On the 3rd day of 7 days Uganda safari you will have morning breakfast at your leisure, meet your safari driver then checkout of your lodge and set off on drive of 3 hours heading to Queen Elizabeth national park, on your arrival you will check into your lodge and have lunch. After lunch  you will go for an afternoon game drive, on the game drive you will enjoy y viewing many animals such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, leopards and many birds such as herons, egrets and Manny more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge

Day 4: Morning game drive and a boat cruise

On the 4th day of 7 days Uganda safari you will have early morning breakfast and head to the park for morning game drive on the kasenyi track, game drives are done in a safari vehicle with open widows and on this experience you will have a chance to see many animals such as lions, elephants, solitary buffaloes, Kobs, antelopes and many more. Then you will head your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will return to the park for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, Kazinga channel is a water channel connecting Lake Edward to Lake George and while on the boat cruise you will see many animals such as crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and many water birds such as pink backed pelicans, saddle billed stork, the malachite kingfisher and many more. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On the 5th day of 7 days Uganda safari you will have morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and set off on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park with an en-route game drive in ishasha sector the southern part of the park for sights of tree climbing lions. Upon your arrival in the park you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: mountain gorilla trekking

On the 6th day of Uganda safari you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge and head to the park for mountain gorilla trekking experience with your packed lunch, at the park you will go to the park’s headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts on this safari, be assigned a group to trek and hike into the forests in search for mountain gorillas. Tracking for the gorillas takes about 3-5 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent the previous night, when you locate the gorillas you will spend 1 hours of observing the gorillas and taking incredible pictures with your flashlight off. While in the presence of mountain gorillas you are advised to keep a distance of 7 meters and after the activity you will head back to the headquarters meet your safari driver and head your lodge.  In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Departure

On the 7th day of Uganda safari you will have morning breakfast at your leisure, checkout out if your lodge, with your guide you will set off on a journey back to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover at the equator for pictures and another at Igongo cultural centre for cultural tour and lunch, then proceed to Kampala. When you arrive in the Kampala you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your departure flight or at the hotel.
