3 Day Gorilla trekking and cycling safaris detailed itinerary

Day 1; Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

You will have an early departure for your gorilla and cycling safari from Kampala. Our first stop will be in Kayabwe, at the equator where we will have breakfast and some photos. Proceeding through the Masaka-Mbarara highway, we have lunch in Ntungamo or Kabale before reaching Bwindi. On arrival, we will relax and recuperate from the long drive. The sounds and views of the lush green forest is soothing. The camp fire will give us a chance to hear of the folk stories as told in the African tradition.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and cycling safari

After a warm breakfast, we will head to the park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing. During the briefing, we will be instructed on the guidelines of gorilla trekking. Some of these include; keep a distance of 7 meters away from the gorillas at all times, don’t touch the young even when they come close, no flash photography, keep your voice down and a few more. In groups of 8, you will head into the jungle for gorilla trekking. On making contact with the gorillas, you will have an hour with them. In this one hour, you will take as many pictures and videos as you would like. Observe them as they relate with each other. Depending on the location of the gorilla groups, gorilla trekking last up to 6 hours. You will return to the lodge or lunch.

Later in the afternoon, we will embark on our cycling safari. With sturdy mountain bikes, we will cycle through the amazing terrain in Bwindi, passing thorough the nearby villages. The kids will wave you on and sprint alongside you for support. The rewarding scenery of the rift valley is memorable. After the cycling safari, we will return to the lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Transfer to Kampala.

On the last day of our 3 Day Gorilla trekking and cycling safaris, we will have an early departure. The scenic drive through the rolling and terraced hills of Kabale is nostalgic. A lunch stop in Mbarara and we will proceed to Kampala. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel, residence or airport. This will mark the end of the gorilla and cycling safari.
