3 Days Uganda gorilla safari takes you on a visit to Bwindi impenetrable national a UNESCO World Heritage site for hosting the endangered mountain gorillas, Bwindi impenetrable national park is located in south western Uganda covering an area of 321 square kilometer. Bwindi impenetrable national park is a famous home for mountain gorillas hosting over 600 individuals which is half of the world’s population.

Detailed itinerary of 3 days Uganda gorilla safari itinerary

Day 1: pickup and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

The first day of the safari marks of the beginning of the safari and you are required to have landed in Uganda a night before, after breakfast at your lodge in Entebbe or Kampala your safari driver will pick you up, give you a short briefing about the safari and set off on a drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park in south western Uganda. On your way you will have a stopover at the equator monument for pictures and buying souvenirs and crafts, you will have another stopover in Mbarara for lunch then proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park. When you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge and relax as you wait for dinner, in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking

On the second day of the safari, you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge, meet your safari driver and head out to the park’s headquarters for briefing which is the first session before the actual safari starts. In the briefing a senior guide takes you through the rightful conduct while in presence of mountain gorillas, you will also be grouped in groups of 8 people and be assigned a mountain gorilla group to trek. With your packed lunch you will head into the thick forests looking for mountain gorillas which takes about 3-5 hours which depends on the movement of the mountain gorillas, after finding the gorillas you are allowed to stay for only one hour in the presence of mountain gorillas in their nature habitat. As you observe these giant creatures and their behavior, you are allowed to take pictures as long as your camera’s flashlight is off. After one hour you will trek back to the park’s headquarters, meet your safari driver and head back to your lodge and rest, in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer Back To Kampala 

 On the 3rds say of the safari you will have breakfast at your leisure, meet your safari driver, checkout of your lodge and set off heading back to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch then proceed to Kampala, when you arrive in Kampala you will be dropped for either in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport for your departure back home.
